ValentineA Poem by WizardsAfflictionA love poem written for Poetry Writing class.Trees greet us with a rustle of leaves, and we pass them by with little sound. A smile plays with your lips as we venture further. I know not of your plans, and this mystery plagues my mind: I surrender to the thought. “Where are we off to?” No answer to ward away these fears, now visible through shaky breath and shifty eyes. Then your voice, true as day, echoes near my ears: “Do you know where forever finds itself this night?” My face expresses confusion, convoluted in wonder, truthfully lost to your intentions. “I know nothing of such,” comes my soft reply, weak as it battles with the air's constrictive cold.
Gentle hands find my waist and pull me into warmth: “Between our beating hearts, dear Valentine.” © 2013 WizardsAfflictionFeatured Review
