Hopeful

Hopeful

A Poem by WizardsAffliction
"

The first poem I wrote for Poetry Writing class. It's been heavily revised since then.

"

She looks to moons away;

where do the skies take her?

A few steps further, and she's

falling onto her back,

arms outstretched

as if the wind can catch her fingers.

I run and stall her fall,

circling my arms 'round her form.

She let loose her lips so they could pour into open ears:

tales of lust addled with pain and despair,

erased histories as she undertakes this final adventure.

Her eyes still, a silenced pale blue,

and a twitch of her mouth

struggled for a smile.

None shall maim her for it,

free of these binds at last.

And this is the place we find our hope,

as she looks to moons away,

whispers the address of her new-found home.

I feel as though I can see this scene playing out in front of me. A mirror of smoke, and though it I see desperation, love, and at last, damp hope.

Good Job!

I like this. Very descriptive and creates some great visuals.
