Serenity

Serenity

A Poem by Kevin Horsley

How to achieve serenity

Serenity

Some people

cut themselves

when they feel frustration

for the release

Others use

red elastic bands

to elicit some pain

and the illusion of blood

While yet others

hit people

and objects

around them

I punch my thighs

punch them until they go dead

and let the dull throbbing

guide me back.

I'm old fashion. In my young days. I try to drink myself to death. Didn't work. Pain is a hard choice. Many ways to torture a soul and mind. I believe better to move on and allow the pain to motivate you to rise from the B.S. Thank you for the excellent poem.
