Fragility

Fragility

A Poem by Kevin Horsley
"

Everything belongs to a galaxy or a universe, it's just a matter of perception or understanding. Once this realisation is made, the fragility of all things becomes apparent, as does the strength.

"

Fragility

Last night I viewed

red swirls

in the deepening gloom

I saw stars within

each silky fold

twinkling

against the silhouettes

under the fluorescent light

of night and moon glow

and there was life

in stasis

but life none the less

and the centre of this

this scarlet galaxy

was hidden away

like a well kept secret.

This morning

I sought it out

hoping to see

the epicentre

but the vibrant life

I had witnessed

mere hours before

lay dying

a booted foot

had trampled it

as unconsciously as

stepping onto paving

such a tragedy

that this life

this galaxy

was so fragile.

galaxy is indeed fragile - the be trampled on - I like the philosophical nature of it too to stare into the sky and see so much - and I really liked your tag line - how true - all is a matter of perception - do we take into account what others ignore - the nature of humanity and thoughts - nice!

True to form...a poem the soul understands much more than the mind.

I like the logic and thoughts in the words. I agree with the poem. We are fragile. Life need to be appreciated and each new day is a gift. One of my favorite books series." Hitchhiker guide to the galaxy" made us think. How fragile life and death could be. Thank you for the outstanding poem.

I got so much out of that! First it made me think of life in other forms. Then it made me feel guilty for those I haven't been sensitive enough towards. Yes life is so fragile. Thankyou.
