Outliving death

                Outliving death

               the so-called continuity of life through

              that blessing…and burden of procreation.

             the torrent that keeps the rivers collecting

            into the seas and the seas emptying again

           into the former.

         A constantly swinging pendulum, a ticking clock

       every day, every night

      in and out of season, the change,

     the constant.

    the immortality of the collective specie

   that defeats the mortality of each man.

  We all live forever.
