Distant Relationships

Whatever hole that gap creates that just drowns people in it..

Distant Relationships 

Presence encompasses the substance

 of sight and feel, it evokes belief.

 But now the days and journeys increase

 the space between us and the light and

 evergreen begin to dim with the distance.

The misting grows the farther you go,

until we get to the point where I reach out but

can’t feel your hands, and our voices are swiftly

drowned by the nimbus of fog that separates and blinds us.

 The lack of sight breeds the doubt,

 and the beautiful we use to share

becomes fallen leaves we only look back to

from a faraway distance.

I miss how I used to miss you.
