A Shadow in the Mist

A Shadow in the Mist

A love like poem I feel with a pretty funny ending.

A Shadow in the Mist

A dense fog fell to the street,

the moon faded from sight,

all I could see was my feet,

and a vague glow from a light.

Yet another figure had come into view,

a shadow out there in the mist,

I felt in my heart it must be you,

the love that I had missed.

I moved so quickly, a haste in my stride,

With thoughts of long kisses and small talks,

I shut my eyes tight, held my arms out wide,

Then realized I just hugged a mailbox.

… Damn it …

lol! Hugging a mailbox. We all have those days, where we miss our special someones. I understand how this feels, heartache is a pain. But it gets better overtime you need to focus on you, don't worry about having love current.

very funny! Nice twist!

"had come"....not "had came" (I take it that was a typo)

Brilliant otherwise in imagery, musicality, and.... simply I couldn't contain my laughter at the end. Well done!
