Safe At Home With God

Safe At Home With God

A Poem by Beatrice Boyle (Grandma Bea)
"

The horror that is war is over now, for he is safe in God's arms.

"

Safe At Home with God

No more the clarion call of battle for me

I am safe at home at last

I do not hear the exploding bombs

Or the bullets whizzing past

No more sounds of flashing guns

No more missiles streaming by

Or hearing the screams of mother’s sons

As they prepare to die

I am safe at home with God mom

It’s where I want to be

I heard the flutter of angel’s wings

And a soft voice calling me

“It’s time for you to come home son

God’s love has set you free.”

I’m safe at home with God mom

No more pain and fear

No matter where you are

You’ll always feel me near

Now you can be at peace mom

Because you know I’m here

So do not weep for me

And keep your faith steadfast

Know that I am happy now

For I’m at home with god at last
