Heavy Rain

Written 4/20/15 Heavy rain drops Hammer the ground.

I sit in serenity as
Heavy rain drops
Hammer the ground.
And just as the earth does
I too will soak up
This precious life source
Trying to quench this thirst.. within.
Let it water and nourish
The seeds which lie
In my mind, heart, and soul.
Bring forth
Flowers in bloom
And a lingering scent of newness.

Literally just wrote this while listening to what sounds like buckets of rain coming down outside my window. :)

..Heavy rain drops hammer the ground..

The rain is easily one of the greatest loves of my life. I could not stand being away from it, which is a blessing in south Louisiana as we get rain so often. This was a fantastic image and feeling. And I've read and written about the rain for as long as I can remember. Loved that.

I feel the same way, I could never live somewhere where it doesn't rain. I love the rain to much lol. Thankfully Maryland gets plenty of rain. :D

I've always lived in maryland, never lived anywhere else.
The worst - uhh I'll have to come to ya on that one lol. The best - I guess that we have a bit of everything here. We have beaches, and the bay, we have mountains, we also have little country towns, or big cities. We also have all 4 seasons, so that's nice I guess. Though I personally prefer fall out of the 4 lol.

I'm a big fan of Winter, myself, but then again we don't get snow and ice down here so I may be shaded a little bit on that. Are you a seafood person?

Fall is rather lovely.

Anything but Summer for me.

I like winter too. But fall is my fave. It's the perfect weather, not to cold but not to warm either. And everything looks pretty! Lol. Seafood is cool, only eat crab, lobster and shrimp though lol.

And yes! Summer is to damn hot! Lol. High temps and humidity = me a not very happy camper lol.

You probably would think our Winter is a lot like your Fall most days.

I like it a little bit chilly. Not terribly cold, but enough to bundle up. It just has always struck me as such a delightful time.. be it the holidays or just romantic log cabins in the imagination. Just love Winter.

Well, we can't have you an unhappy camper.. I don't mind the heat as much as the humidity down here is truly terrible.

Never had crawfish. That's not really a thing here lol. It's all about the crabs here, that is what we're pretty much known for.

I totally agree! Colder weather is just nicer. And in my opinion it's more romantic haha.

I'm always hot, so I hate the heat lol. And the humidity just makes it like 10 times worse lol.

Ahhh.. what lovely metaphors. A rain that cleanses and nourishes indeed. I pray that seeds of goodness, kindness, love, and peace will grow out of it and bloom with a beautiful aroma for you and everyone else around.
now if you could have found a way to send some real water over here in San Diego and help us with the drought, it would have been something!! :D

Amazing how easily are sometimes inspired. I read this poem about four times to feel it roll across my tongue. The words seem to actually fall like rain. I can those drops pounding and envision myself next to a window curled up with a blanket and a book.

So simple, and yet very moving. I normally pick out my favorite parts, but I love the whole damn thing.

For me it's about the water drowning out the stuff in my head tonight (or any other time I guess lol), and me trying to grow and nourish the good thoughts (the flowers) rather then stressing or worrying about stuff like I am.
