Just Called

Just Called

A Poem by Greg Skura
"

This is about an old girlfriend that i lived with over twenty years ago and i was convinced i was over her but i realised that even though i had freed myself from her memory there were some unresolved feelings that i had to deal with, now we are friends a

"

I just called to hear your voice
And to tell you of my choice
To Let go and be free
Of the feelings inside of me
I need you, to let me know
Can we share each others road
Many years since I seen your face
I returned to that special place
My emotions were firm and strong
For oh so very long
I thought I was free of you
And what your Love can do
When you hold me in your arms
I feel your warmth, and your charms
And I sense your sweet energy
Like water, it rushes over me
I never want to let you go
Please choose and let me know
I never stopped Loving you
When I hold you, I see it's True
I can no longer live a lie
I need you by my side
At night I hope and pray
That you will feel this way
My Love is Always for you
No matter what you do
And whenever we must part
I feel my breaking Heart
And I look forward to the when
I can hold you in my arms again

This is very beautiful, Greg. Wow. Love is an amazing thing. "Twenty years ago, I saw you yesterday... "

Nice meter and rhyme scheme as well. Lovely work :)

Love the pure honesty of this one. Sure do hope you are just as forth coming with her, but as relationships go often we are not. Beautiful write!

This is a simple and direct poem. And one I can relate to. You vividly capture the idea of a love you've put to the back of your mind but as soon as you see that person, you're weak with the chemistry again. The rhyming couplets really help to frame this.

i could really feel the power of your love and the eagerness to start over with an old love that never left your heart. this is easy to relate to: no hidden message- just straight forward and hits you in the gut! Great job!
