Patience

Patience

A Poem by Giullia King

She felt an unease heaviness in the wind.
"You're just another let down.
Another chapter full of mistakes."
Some people are novels,
the world will never get tired of reading, she thought.
He said she seemed like an old soul,
She told him she was just swoon by the moon.
Her eyes downcast and brimming,
With a broken voice she asked Time how long
it would take for him to put the pieces of her broken heart together.
"Patience, my loved one" said time,
"I'll teach you".
"I'm not everyone's cup of tea.
I don't connect to other souls easily."
She said as she put her hands on her face and started sobbing.
"Maybe life is this luxurious thing that is not meant for the weak-minded.
Un stimulated souls that are not entwined are unhappy."
She looked up at the starry night, tears rolling down her cheeks.
"Sometimes we create our own heartbreaks through expectation." Said Time
and laid a comforting hand on her shoulder.
Letting her know that she'll never be alone, whatever may come.

Curiously wondering, sadly lonesome, troubling thoughts.

Always welcome!
Hi Gullia. I read this and then scanned some of the comments, and saw all the bits I'd been thinking myself. Ethan's edits are exactly what I'd like to have been done as a proof-read or more likely a check that what you copy pasted had come across as intended. But I was able to put these aspects to one side and enjoy the poem. The idea of a personified 'time' is really interesting; let's hope it would be as gentle and comforting as you portray!.

My final thought is that I'm getting old. Over the last year or two I've read 'sick' being used in a complementary way, and now I'm seeing 'dope' used similarly. For me, a sick dope is either a fool who's ill or one who has twisted unpleasant thoughts. Hey ho!

Nice work.

Regards
Nigel

Excuse my language here.. . But this is f*****g dope... Written with a melancholy twist, I could FEEL, rather than just see... The ravages of time and nature on our souls... Like swooning under the moon... I am amazed at your talent, Gullia... Glad I had a chance to see and discover your transparently emotional work... Seriously, keep at it, and I hope your day finds you restful and ready for action...! Take care
