Sleep

Sleep

A Poem by Gypsy Dreamer
"

"Visits from a long lost love"

"

In my sleep I dream of you
suddenly you're there
no borders, no rules.

Watching me with a far away stare
I know your thoughts
words aren't there.

Just to be near you, knowing you're here
my spirit is comforted
from darkness, from fear.

At times you are one, at times two
you are him for a minute
then you are you.

Mysterious is my dreams when you appear
I awake in a fog
still feeling you near.

In the dark, I reach for you
knowing you're there
What do I do?

I call out your name then I wait
nothing happens
except my heart which aches.

I say I'm sorry, I say I was wrong
Life catches up
yet Life goes on.

And in your realm, that place you're in
I go to sleep
to see you again.

Superb imagery. Our past often comes to haunt us in our dreams.
Another fine piece of writing.
