security blanket

security blanket

A Poem by Holly Mason

slumber is coming
it's under your bed
these are the hours
that you dread

out of nothing
you hear it move
scratching and clawing
at the tongue and groove

crying harder now
you are screaming inside
the creature is coming
and you must subside

it's clever hand
reaches around your neck
you wish for anything
except bitter death

then it is done
the task has been handled
the security blanket
set straight the night time scandal

this creeps me out...i think of this teddy i had when i was little...i would put him under the bed face down...then have nightmares that he would be lying there really ticked off and thinking of ways to get me back for putting him in that position.

i guess a lover can be much the same way, if treated like this.

here i am writing this review about nightmares, and in the background on tv, i hear the sound effects from that shower scene in "psycho"---
