Trust in Me

Trust in Me

A Poem by Hamkar
"

It's a bit different than I usually do, I think.

"

Trust in Me

You were unloved,

A skinny bundle of air

And fur.

Whimpering about memories.

You didn’t have trust in me.

Remembering you past,

This time you were careful

I whispered softly,

Warm on your shivering skin,

And settled your fragile body.

I took you home,

Then to the vet,

And then I took you in my arms

“No matter how small

Of big you are

Know that I love you.

You can trust me,

My heart is not black,

And my body not acohol.

Your my hope,

And I am yours.

I wish you a happy life from now.

You are loved.

You are living.”

But I was still worried,

You weren’t eating.

Still.

We tried,

But it was hard for you,

When you were used to

None.

We forced it down,

Making you eat.

You made it,

You had hope,

Because you learnt to trust,

My gentle voice.

I think it is good for a person who hasn't owned a pet before.
