He says, I see

He says, I see

A Poem by Hana Saemon
"

Another one about someone with bulimia/anorexia/eating disorder

"

He says he loves me

He says I’m pretty

But I look at myself in the mirror

Gross is all I see

Sometimes I believe

It has to be real, maybe

But why would a guy be

With someone like me?

Fats around my tummy

My thighs and my arm

All my life

I’ve been told that I am plump

The girls on tv

They are so skinny

Im not like that

How can I be pretty?

He says he loves me

For who I am inside

But does he really know

How much I hide?

But he sees me

Through my lies

He sees the broken pieces

Behind my eyes

Hope

Hold on to that hope, hope is a beautiful thing. I find it so sad how the media etc give this sick and twisted view of what they believe makes a beautiful woman and anyone who does not fit this mold is forced to think that they are not beautiful. I would love to see a world that is more accepting of difference, one that accepts people for who they are not what they look like or 'should' look like. Great writing yet again. Captivating.

I've thought & felt every word of this ~ I see what you meant when you said you could identify with my poem of the same topic! This is very well written, definitely hits the nail on the head (and touches the heart).
