I'll let you go

my feelings on a paper

I pack your suitcase 

And i pack my heart with it

It's just 15 days you say

But to me, it's like 15 years

I don't know how to control my tears

But I let you go.

'No' a part of me screams

'This is good and you must go'

'But what if its not safe?'

The other part quietly inquires

When you're there, how will i get you what you require?

But still I gotta let you go.

I know I'll miss you with all my heart

But this is good and you should go

The tensions, the worries I'll try to discard

And hope for the best and pray to God

That you stay happy and you stay safe

Promise me you'll miss me and call me everyday

I don't know what awaits

But yes, I'll let you go.

Author's Note

one of my really really close friend got an opportunity to go for a fellowship for 15 days but i never stayed away from her even for one day so yeah it was tough and the only way to let my feelings out was through a poem...so yeah what do you think? please comment and thanks:):).

This poem really made me sad because I'm currently in a long distance relationship (we are only seperated by a few hours but ya, :( ) It sucks lol (not your poem, the long distance thing) We see each other about every 2-3 weeks adn only for a few days, if that...so this poem kind of hit home for me. Usually I love poetry stuffed with singular images, but this diction and almost letter-like essence works
