Just This Once

Just This Once

A Poem by Leindor
"

The struggle I deal with in trying not to wish ill on someone who hurt me very deeply.

"
Maybe she'll forgive
Maybe let it slide
That time that I ignored you
or gave you the evil eye

Maybe she'll overlook
Those words that shook
You
To your very core
That night you asked me for more

When you knew that you were creepin'
Knew that you were sleepin'
With those who you chose
To make lovers for a weekend

Same time you ask of mine
You ask all of my skin
To bring a light to this world
That's born of lyin' and sin

So just this once
I hope she let's me get away
With the Vengeful thoughts
That I may just entertain

I really do hope
That she doesn't make even
The night that I flipped out
When I learned that you were cheatin'

When you were there restin'
Protected by your parents
Who had no idea
That you even had a girlfriend

Or make that girlfriends
Online or in person
All of us, oblivious
Swear, you're not even human

So maybe, just maybe
She'll let me get away
With the scene that I made
When I threw out the gifts that you gave

And it may just be possible
Could be a small chance
That she missed the ring
That flew from my fingers into the sand

You said that you were for me
Said that you adored me
Wanted my love only
No one would be above me

Now I'm all alone
In shambles we called home
With a son who called you daddy
And dials you on my phone

I have faith in destiny
Karma don't miss a beat
But just this once
I hope she aims at you and not me
