Philosophy

A Poem by Hasan Hersi

People say madmen and lunatics thrive there
That you will get lost and in life you will get nowhere
What use is it if it cannot make you wealthy they say
They raise a shaking finger and exclaim you will end up cleaning trays
Then he says with a smile that truth and knowledge is what we are after
That all we want is to look at the world and see how our minds can be master
He asks tell me are you even certain of your world's existence?
Or are you sure you can trust even your weakest sense?
Are you sure that mind is separate from matter or are they one?
He then looks at his listeners confounded faces and asks isn't this fun?
