Six

Six

A Poem by Kuteybird

Six months ago I wasn't a depressed window,
Six months ago I had a beautiful step daughter,
Six months ago I was pregnant with the child we lost,
Six months ago I had hope,
Six months ago I laughed and had dance parties in the kitchen with my family,
Six months ago I had a family,
Six months ago it was a different set of people around a mahogany dining room set laughing about " the best parts of their days",
Six months ago I didn't suffer from suffer from this level of anxiety,
Six months ago I had the American dream,
Six months ago my mother wasn't sick,
Six months ago my extended family cared,
Six months ago I wasn't a suicide survivor,
Six months ago I was labled in different ways,
Six months ago my face was less of a mask,
Six months...

Your six months is a terribly sad story. But you are not alone. Even amongst the anonymous strangers writing here, many will empathize and sympathize.

Writing helps. Many on here write as an outlet, for catharsis - because it helps. Many different stories and reasons. All very personal to the individual.
