Just for a Moment: Let It Be

Just for a Moment: Let It Be

A Poem by Beautifully_Anarchist
"

Let It Be is actually a great Beatles song but it's not really relevant to this, this is basically about those times where you're blissfully at peace.. and then the other person goes and ruins it.

"

Just for a Moment
Close your eyes
and lean your body
up against me.
Pretending
just for a moment
this could be.
Hold your breath,
and save the feeling,
before it fades.
Wondering
how I am what I am,
what you made.
Touch my skin,
before I burn you,
with this flame.
Pull away,
you fear this will end,
just the same.
Taste my tears,
for you have nothing,
to compare.
Remembering,
 you run your fingers,
through my hair.
Feel us break,
or is that just me,
numbness kills.
Asphyxiating,
I must survive this,
Tell me I will.
Close your eyes,
don’t set your coldness,
up against me.
I’m begging,
just for a moment,
 Let this be.

I thought that this was wonderful. It was very well written. I loved the opening stanza.

"Close your eyes
and lean your body
up against me.
Pretending
just for a moment
this could be."
