Long after...

Long after...

A Poem by Gee
"

Lifetime memories made ( please read, if only for the back story.)

"
Long after the slow walk down the aisle,
long after their vows exchanged,
long after confetti, popping corks
and photos, just so arranged.

Long after the feasting, speeches and tears,
long after their very first dance,
long after the party, meticulously planned
with nothing at all left to chance.

Each one that attended will never forget,
with smiles will ever recall,
the marriage of Nick to the beautiful Grace
in the grounds of old Fawsley Hall.

Back story:
Grace is the daughter of two of our closest friends and attended our wedding as a soon to be born baby ( 25 years ago). Aged 14 she was diagnosed with brain cancer. Whilst undergoing treatment for this, Grace informed her mum that if she survived she would train to be a nurse, so that she too could help folk in their hour of need. True to her word, after leaving school Grace studied nursing, eventually training and passing all exams and then further studying so as to be able to administer the life saving care she herself had received.
At present Grace is working as a community nurse.
A truly beautiful, inspirational young lady.

Grace is a beautiful soul, she found her mission in life so early on . The young man who married this gem of a person is a lucky man. I wish them both loads of happiness. Gee, I am glad you shared your wonderful sentiments with us all.

That's an incredible back-story to a fine poem. Inspiration can even suddenly come from the worst circumstances.

Gee,
A truly inspirational story, thank you for sharing with me. Y our poem pays homage to this fine couple and beautiful lady named Grace. Your poem alone deserves merit, adding the background gives it an Angelic scent of sweetness. When you see Grace, tell this Yank tips his hat to her. Our adopted daughter from Korea is a registered nurse in the states.
Many Blessings,
Richie b.

Thank you Doc, lovely pic
This first awakened the vision of my niece's wedding this last autumn. Then as I read your back story to the beautiful poem it took on such a deeper, yes magical meaning. What a giving heart, a beautiful soul to lift others after suffering so much. Lives like this change the world and make it glow... :)

Thank you. They do indeed :)
Lovely tribute Gee to this young woman who struggled with such serious health issues. More than wonderful she has survived to marry and train as a nurse. Giving back to show her appreciation for the care she received. Very noble.
