I just read a poem called "To my dead father" and it inspired me to write this poem about my own experience of rape.
Blaming this bottle for the battle I did not win/ Praying the next sip will help me forget the regret within/ My mind flood with destruction because, I can no longer pretend/ Hoping that night doesn’t happen again./
Lost in your lust, no concern for my blessing/ Your drunk lips touch my nervous body as you start undressing/
Forced not willed/ And still…..
I feel the blame/ I feel the shame/ And nothing is gained but this brutal pain./
I have been in this exact place a few times in my life but I'm glad I pulled through and got passed and found happier days. I think you said it the best "Blaming this bottle for the battle I did not win/
Praying the next sip will help me forget the regret within/." I love these lines because I know so many people that go through feelings like this on a regular basis. Thanks for sharing and thanks for the great read!

This is a very moving poem and although the sadness is overwhelming and I'm deeply sorry for the pain that should never have been brought upon you...you wrote it perfectly. Stay stong...the blame and the shame does not fall on you.
I'm glad that you felt strong enough to share this with others. Personally, I've never been raped, but rapists in general have earned my sincerest contempt.
You really caught my eye by the end, you paint a picture without trying, whether or not your writing from experiance I cannot tell but either way this is decent writing
wow...this is so powerful! your honesty with the subject and your intimacy in speaking frankly is provocative and wickedly searing. you are indeed a blessed poet and a brave woman. color me very impressed!
