Cast Away the Darkness

Cast Away the Darkness

A Poem by Honor'd
"

Behind your eyes, you dream of beautiful phantasmagoria!

"
.../...
"When the welts reveal themselves on my prostrate corpse,
You will remember the life that I claimed rotten.
T'was another day of pitiful, gruesome remorse.
Around my neck did the noose tauten."

"T'was when I thought the whole world was evil,
A catastrophic desire to die and kill transpired.
In my head was pure and utter upheaval,
Even the posse of voices in my head conspired.

You will be chanting 'round the hellish pyre,
In the glorious heat will you bask and bathe in.
Even I am troubled, commanding my own empire.
Come, so I can awaken your purposeless soul from within.

I will bring you down to Hell myself,
For your soul no longer thrives in euphoria.
I will bask you in pride in order to remember your past self.
But behind your eyes, you dream of beautiful phantasmagoria!

"So the demon speaks his dire thoughts,
Bestowing on me an awful plague.
He is not the one tying the hangman's knots,
Ending his own life and calling it vague."

"I will continue to fly,
No matter how troubled I become.
It does not matter if the situation turns awry.
Satan, begone!"
.../...

Author's Note

Honor'd
The italic stanzas are basically all what Satan is saying to *the person*... *The person* speaking to Satan is in the regular/normal font.
...
"Cast Away the Darkness" is merely a temporary title until I come up with a better one.

Ah... I get it. The Man shoves away the devil because he is putting him down, attempting to drag him to Hell, but Man 'casts darkness away', even though his mind lingers in the same place. The Man is suicidal and somewhat misanthropical, yet he doesn't want Satan to put him out of his misery. But all he goes through is not only misery, there used to be euphoria and pride in himself... So this Man pushes himself forward because it's his own life. I love how all your poems have that same meaning of 'leading your own life'. It's very appealing. I love the 'conversation' the Man has with Satan. Nice poem, mate! Keep writing!
