Anxious

Anxious

A Poem by Niall Madden

Innate, it runs through my blood as a dart.

The inevitability just makes my heart.

Pound. Pound.

a capsule that encapsulates all,

Making rationality and logic seem quite droll.

As emotion wraps around  Like pulsating barbed wire,

you're muscles, in you're arms, start to twitch.

Liar. Liar.

Rooted  by the wire as it runs down a spine,

latching to the legs, now just parallel lines.

As I present my mouth now wide,

only to release these feelings inside.

Now before I can even say I spoke,

The wire crawls inside and begins to choke

now with no potential vocalisation.

I sit here emotionally.

Broke. Broke.

I hope you enjoy this one :) based it of the idea of anxiety disorders and the problems people face when suffering from anxiety.

Definitely getting a sense of the terror throughout (especially bodily terror - and that can be such a challenge to pull off.) I think you successfully accomplished your goal.
