The Wind Trilogy

The Wind Trilogy

A Poem by Jami Nicole

The wind, it blows;

Strongly shaking leaves from the trees.

It twists around the gravel.

It turns into a funnel cloud,

A twister,

A tornado.

The sky a bright yellow

Sending rain down to the ground.

The twister,

It destroys everything in its path;

Sending the trees into house,

Cutting power lines from their wooden poles.

It cuts off television, phone lines, power, internet.

Every kind if connection,

Leaving debris in its wake.

Its witnesses will never be the same.

Author's Note

Jami Nicole
In August of 2009 there were a few tornados by my dads house in Minneapolis. It took out both of our trees, one of which smashed my truck. Luckily the house was okay, but I was home alone and I'm not. Ever since it hit I've suffered from insomnia and anxiety, and I get scared whenever it rains heavily. I don't like being home alone during storms anymore and sometimes I duck for cover when the wind is loud. I just can't function anymore. I've never really said anything about it until now, but this poem was inspired by a song we're doing in choir called The Wind Trilogy.

I love it after reading that. And trust me, i know how much anxiety sucks. And im in choir too haha im really sorry to hear about that though. But no matter how hard it is, dont let it ge the best of you, and you'll come out on the far side.
