I still visit the profiles of old friends here, some that I know seldom if ever, revisit the site. Others are departed from life itself. I revisit their comments on my posts on other sites as well. I'll find one and say, well, wasn't that nice? This is eloquently poignant. I enjoyed and I relate. F.

As do I. They are like monoliths on a partways barren land.
I’m back. Not because I have something to say. But more, I’m picking through the barren streets and occasionally I hear music, like here. This one spoke volumes.

Welcome back, TL. I'm not here as much either. I thank you for the comment.
This makes me sad. I just joined this site! Am I too late to the party?
But this is well written. It paints a picture of a ghost town, long since abandoned with no signs of life. It is haunting, which I think was the point here. Good work!

So many have gone over my years here... some by choice, and a few not. When it's a surprise it hurts - cause they're missed ...and when it isn't a surprise - it hurts cause they're missed anyway. Life as we live it.
there are patches just like in a tattered shirt, too many memories that need to be looked back on with or without regret but ultimately writers cafe will still be considered a home and perhaps in time all the prodigals will be able to realize it and return so it can never stay abandoned forever
"Verbs sway on rusted hinges"...now come on..You have to get out the oil...but love the imagery! Thanks for sharing and good luck..sometimes just painting yourself to the moon helps as well...smiles~
