Fake friends

Fake friends

A Poem by Relic
"

Oh, the horror! :)

"

"Your story is great,"
I said, excitedly.
"Thanks for reading,"
she said, delightedly.
You've changed your name?"
I said confused,
"Now you're a guy?"
I pondered bemused.

The end result?
She was a he!
She seemed so nice,
confusing me.
Now I'm blocked,
The lesson learned?
You never know
when you'll be burned. :)

Author's Note

 Relic
I'm laughing, but you never know who you're talking to on these sites folks. People can change in a second and no one can be trusted. I really wanted to read the highlands story too. Shucks! :D

Update: 11/18/17 Now he's a bunny girl! lol
Update: He's/she's back to Maire again. :)

Everyone is probably just paranoid, over-analyzing everything here. That's why it's best not to get close but still be polite and honest to other users on here. And honesty doesn't mean answering to everything... it just means keeping some things to yourself but sharing other, lighter, less burdening things. If that makes any sense at all. We're all phantoms on here. Showing some things, telling stories, haunting places, but still transparent, not letting anyone see the layers and skin we really wear. Ce la vie

Well said, Lavi. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
those who behave like that...in the end, it will come back to them. the internet is a place safe to play games---i am like Ghost....i will take people for who they say they are...maybe naive, but if they turn out to be something else...that's on them, not on me. or any of us.
Honesty seems to be a dying art in this world.

I couldn't agree more, Jacob. I still get fooled all the time. Thanks for stopping by.
Yeah I just take people for what they say on their profile, doesn't mean I trust that all the time. Thanks for sharing..

Your welcome,
To troll or not to troll, thatbe the question.. Guess we trust and come a cropper or - spite ourselves by being permanently suspicious. Been here years and still find pig ignorance.. easy behind screens! Come out, come out wherever you are.. lets see the whites of your eyes!

How true your words, as ever forthright. Love the hit within the flow of words. Wonder how it ended - if it ever begun!

Thanks very much for reading, emma.
Entertaining--and a bit exasperating.
Have, more times than I care to count, been the blockee.
Managing to struggle along.

Thanks for your thoughts, Jimmy. :)
Ha! This witty, funny little gem brought me a needed smile! Great form, flow, cadence and rhyme. You leave me imagining a bizarre visual...but- only with eyes open wide, whatever works I say! Balm wished you to soothe the blocking burn my friend,...Bravo!
