The Coldest Embrace

The Coldest Embrace

A Poem by Ian Titian
"

A poem about death

"

The Coldest Embrace

I do not fear what thou would

He with its cold breath and merciless clutch

White and unforgiving

Slender and slippery like the drool covered teeth of the infernal hound

The coldest embrace of the warmest place

The courier of the sadness! I call thee!

Should thee come to my dwelling

Tonight...

Where I shall rest my ever-dreaming pair of eyes all so quietly

And like the mist promised to kill all who have faith

If thou would take me into the cold embrace

And bring me to the promised land

Tonight ...

T’would be fine

T’would be freedom

Hold any meaning to myself, it will not
