Blog: The Many Personalities of Pakistani Politics

A Story by Ibrahim Hoti
"

A run through many of Pakistan's leading political faces.

"

1. Imran Khan: These types of speakers will be able to pick out a wide array of negatives in their opponents, and for that will probably gain a lot of support. However, implementing the policies of this same politician may be not as easy. Nevertheless, that doesn’t stop this type of speaker from showing his or her flowing charisma and rallying up many other people.

2. Nawaz SharifYou won’t often catch this kind of politician screaming too loud or getting too passionate, but they do usually achieve a certain level of success after the debate and end up well most of the time. Still, these speakers aren’t exactly the most eloquent ones, as they don’t quite have the rallying calls of their opposition, and are not largely considered as qualified in certain intellectual fields.

3. Shireen MizariThis is a kind of politician who holds strong views and is a firm activist for rights as well as being a decent spokesperson. This person is however very talented and is both a good speaker and arguably an even better writer.

4. Khwaja AsifThis type of political personality is a very shrewd one. Being a business person turned politician has meant that this speaker knows how to be cut-throat and work his or her way up to the top in many of their professions or tasks. This person is also a very hard speaker with strong beliefs and an equally strong style of wording those opinions.

5. Maliha LodhiPerhaps the best speaker of them all; this type of delegate is a very eloquent speaker and knows how to get the better of people, in intellectual ways. This personality is also a very intellectual one, who’s often the most qualified speaker. As well as that, this type of delegate would have no problem with stepping over all the other delegates, if it has a fruitful outcome.

6. Fazal-ur-RehmanThis is the kind of speaker who would switch from one stance to another, within seconds, if it pleases whoever’s in a powerful position. As a result, this type of politician comes off as quite slimy and not a very reliable. Nevertheless, this type of delegate can gain a lot of support in many lobbies of the government, and with many civilians.

7. Altaf HussainThese speakers are perhaps the most shrewd, cut-throat ones, as they don’t take kindly to people trying to undermine their power. This delegate would also be willing to go to unusual extents, to make sure that they maintain their control, and are not challenged. As a result, this political personality may be seen as a bit unsettled.

8. Bilawal Bhutto ZardariThis type of delegate is probably quite new to the debating scene, and may not have fully found their way yet. However, this doesn’t mean they aren’t trying, as they have made several attempts (even though some may not always be successful) to get adjusted and fit into local politics. Nevertheless, in many regards, gradual developments are happening.
