Passionate Reunion

A Story by Ice Queen of the Vampires

A cold gust of wind blew through her long chocolate brown hair as she sat on the edge of her apartment building’s roof, her legs dangling in the air.

The early morning sky was filled with thick clouds that hid the disappearing crescent moon. Streetlamps lit the nearly deserted street below as she watched a handful of people scurry to get out of the cold.

The cold brushed against her skin but barely registered in her mind.

‘The joy of being a vampire.’

Celeste sighed into the night and closed her eyes.

It had been six months since she was turned and five since her sire vanished, leaving her alone without an explanation.

‘Wish I knew what happened to him.’

She pulled her legs up and wrapped her arms around them, hugging her knees to her chest. A familiar feeling of loneliness tugged at her broken heart.

Other vampires in the area had tried to step in after her sire went missing because fledglings need their sire close by for a full year. She had refused the offers, content to live miles away in an apartment instead of with the coven.

Celeste rested a cheek against her knees and listened to the city sounds. Tears escaped her eyes as the image of her sire’s face appeared in her mind. Sharp green eyes, silky black hair that just brushed his shoulders and a tender smile burned behind her eyelids.

Her sire had been more than just a mentor.

He had been her lover. And he was gone.

     ‘I miss him so much.’

She sniffled and lifted her head off her knees, quickly wiping away the tears. The horizon was now lightening from the rising sun.

With another sigh, she slowly got to her feet and straightened her black strapless dress. Her dark blue eyes clouded as more memories of her sire continued to play like a movie through her thoughts. For a second she could almost smell his comforting scent.

She gracefully spun around on her bare feet and froze.

The image of her thoughts stood not ten feet away, dressed in a black button down shirt and black slacks. The clothes hugged his muscular frame that was well over four hundred years old.

The wind blew his black hair into his face but failed to hide a widening smile.

     “Kade?”

She stared openmouthed at her sire. His eyes softened with the same tender look that was etched into her memory.

     “Hello, Celeste.”

Without another word she flew across the roof and flung herself into his open arms. The force knocked her sire back several steps as she wrapped her arms around his neck and clung tightly to him.

     “Easy, love,” he chuckled softly.

Celeste tightened her grip when she felt his arms slide around her waist and pull her even closer. Kade rested his cheek against her hair and softly sighed.

     “I missed you,” he whispered.

“You left me,” she whimpered in his ear.

     “I didn’t want to, Celeste.”

She pulled back slightly so she could look him in the eyes, the turmoil in her eyes tearing at his already aching heart.

‘I never wanted to hurt her. But I didn’t have a choice,’ Kade rested his forehead against hers and closed his eyes as a multitude of thoughts battled in his mind.

The feeling of fingertips lightly caressing his cheek quickly brought him out of his internal struggle.

“Why did you leave?” Celeste asked softly, staring deep into his green eyes.

“I had to take care of something. You were only a month old. I couldn’t take you with me, you would’ve been killed and I just couldn’t bear…” His rushed words were cut off when she placed a finger against his lips.

“I understand, Kade. But you won’t have to leave me again, will you?”

He smiled as she removed her finger.

“Never,” he whispered as his eyes roamed her face.

Celeste smiled, her dark blue eyes quickly changing to cobalt blue. The scent of her desire surrounded them and Kade growled softly when he felt his fangs elongate.

He tangled his fingers in her hair, yanking her closer as he roughly claimed her mouth with his own. Fangs scraped together and drew blood as the urgent kiss turned passionate.

Celeste felt his hands start to slide her dress down but a sudden burning sensation on her bare skin caused her to jerk away with a hiss.

     “Celeste?”

She glanced behind her and heard him snarl when the sunlight hit his face.

“We need to get inside. Besides, my bed is much more comfortable,” she murmured with a gleam in her eyes.

Kade grinned and swiftly lifted her into his arms, chuckling when she squealed in surprise. She draped her arms around his neck and snuggled into his chest as he carried her down off the roof to find her apartment.

‘My love, I’m never leaving you again.’

‘I’m so glad he came back and he’s all mine.’

Kade followed her scent to the right apartment and set her down to unlock the door. Her hair fell over her shoulder, exposing the back of her neck and driving him nuts.

Celeste giggled when she felt his fangs gently run across her skin. It took several tries before she finally got the door unlocked and moved into the dark apartment.  As her sire stepped inside, she slyly turned to face him with a seductive purr rumbling in her chest.

He growled back and grabbed her, once again attacking her mouth as he kicked the door shut behind them.

For a second II thought that Kade was her father, that was a little strange. but he is actually a mentor, h er sire, that she fell in love with. It's easy for us to fall in love with those who teach us, above us. Such as producers or directors, or teachers (you know, that school girl crush), etc, I know, silly.

Nice job at describing the people and situations. I like your stories becaue they are unique, no one writes quite like you. And never too morbid or gruesome. At least for me. Keep expounding on these characters, they are likeable.
