Sinking

A Poem by Ice Queen of the Vampires

A brilliantly white full moon

Shines down from a cloudless sky

Crickets chirping in the distance

On a beautiful summer night

She sits alone in the darkness

Staring blankly in front of her

As the lake shimmers in the moonlight

And water laps against the bank

So tired of being alone every day

Her decision has finally been made

And the shattered pieces of her soul

Now scatter slowly into the wind

Soundlessly getting to her feet

She steps off the bank with head held high

The water happily surrounds her ankles

Creeping up as she moves deeper in

The water now reaches her neck

As a single tear slips down her cheek

She takes one last look at the sky

Before plunging under the surface

Sparkles of light glimmer all around

Enveloping her as her vision dims

Sinking down into her watery grave

She fades away with a smile

Aw wow :'( Man, i shoked up when i read this. Twas very sad :( I agree with Bunnie as well that it kinda of has a bit of a tragic romance to it, as she has no one to call her own, and thinks that death will be the only option to set her soul free from that kind of pain. Yea, i felt this very deeply. Very moving write hun. *Hugs*
