Seasonal Moments

 

A perfect flower becomes eroded at the first touch of breath

The leaves that scatter and begin to become fearless

Like the spirit of our tampered curiosity

Always finding each unique moment

 To be more than it ever could ever seem

Feeling the nostalgia shiver down our bones like frosted nights

Leaving the door open for you past the hour of midnight

On the roof we’d look at the stars and say we were finally home

 there was never a moment of doubt

The screaming never really drowned all of those precious moments out

Once tailored and sowed to perfection

With delicate hands and steady hearts

Come sway with me like we used to

Come dance beside me and forget these years have been worn through

Remember that time, I knew it too well

When hearts would flutter and the summer was under our spell

We forget for a moment that time was fleeting

Because our laughter never let that creep in.
