A Complex Faith

A Complex Faith

A Poem by Mek & the Infinite Madness

...I tried
to stay under the
radiance of the light
Where everything can be seen
and lies
were forbidden
But I wonder why
fear
suffocated my breath
and the dogs
glared at me in my sleep
and their howls
devoured my dreams
They said the crows
never shared their feast with
the vultures
But you see
man has told tales
based upon
contradicting ideologies
and the one
hanging
on that dead tree
knows the smell
of his own blood
His voice may be cold
lifeless
heavy
nevertheless the truth
So now I
walk away to be with
the whispers of the
dead...
