Hatred never tasted so sweetA Poem by InkSlinger
It doesn't matter what I say
you never understood that part of me
I don't know how I got here
I just stop living.
I just stopped caring.
Your rancor of who I am
only reinforces my long held suspicions.
This depression decays my inner lining,
festering until the last thread of good will frays
Hatred never tasted so sweet.
Dark thoughts, seedy as they may be
strangle out the last of your memory.
I watch you die
with a twisting grin on freckled frowns.
I sleep all day to forget you.
Bitter decorum dressed in false smiles
tease the senses, and invigorates my mind
bolstering that ever deeping hatred.
These four walls of resentment
fade the sun, and hold me captive
making me forget what freedom feels like
but you will never make me feel guilty.
Shades of your deceptions, dress sharply
Wistful promises full of pomp and happenstance
You lie, you always have
You can never take that back.
Washed of breath, and seamless life
your dead pale gray eyes laid open
I watched you die
I watched you die.
I felt nothing, nor did I care.
The taste of another's blood
lingers, deep within the recesses of my heart
Only serving to remind me
of how sweet life use to be.
But.... hatred never tasted so sweet.
