Scene 12 – The Vision/Tiresias Dream

{Tiresias PRESET}
[MUSIC: Slow Ambience Music]

Tiresias:
I’ve had a dream,
I dreamt a dream of myself asleep
No bird sang me up from my bed
No girl woke me
No boy bothered me

<lights ON: DIM>

I dreamt a dream of a Bird
Big and beautiful, it’s wings had fluttered
But cold and dirty was its meat
A sparrow picked on its meat for food
Cold and dirty, the little sparrow was,
But its meat, good enough for Royal Feast

I dreamt a dream of a young girl dead
Her body, scattered all around the fields
Everything that touched the pieces
Died beside it, Except a young boy
who willingly burned alongside of her

I dreamt a dream of death
A mother, crying, wishing she was asleep
Her only child lay beside her
Even more asleep than she

I dreamt a dream of tears
Rain trickling down a father’s face
His wife and son taken by their own blades
He reaches into his heart for his fate
Wishing that he could have redone the last of their days

<Lights OFF>
[MUSIC: FADE OUT]

I’ve had a vision,
I saw this come true
I saw it, it could either happen to me or you
No girl will wake us
No boy will bother us
The truth has died, and so did life

{All exit}
