Knock, Knocking Comes No King

Knock, Knocking Comes No King

A Poem by Inner Rain
"

A Villanelle

"

Knock, knock, knocking
Who's been there all night?
And my watch is still tick-tocking

Knock, knock, comes the king
"Let me in! I will not bite."
What fortune is he bringing?

Ring, ring, he pulls the string
Why cant he wait till its bright?
He definitely isn't very charming

Ring, ring, He keeps on ringing!
Oh, why does he think he's my knight?!
One more, and make him go to Beijing!

Knock, knock, now he is singing
He is worse that a stray dog's bite
So I opened the door grinning

Why isn't it my king, so annoying
I slammed the door not wanting a fight
Knock, knock, and still knocking!
Good thing the door is still blocking...

Wow.. this one was humorous and a little sad too rolled in one.. like the feel of it.. great to have a joking sense about the dating scene.. and sure it hurts when the people ringing the bell or knocking aren't the ones you'd like at your door!!! I think everyone at some point has experienced that.. it can also be very hard to deal with sometimes! Thank you for sharing.. =)
