Lost

Lost

A Poem by Mark
"

so many ways...

"
I've been lost where candles
splash movements on the trees.
Old gnarled arms and fingers
give me their scratch affection.

I've been lost on black ribbons
with painted lines white and yellow.
Green white signs laughing
giving me misdirection.

I want to be lost where
your smiles move and
chase laughter in the night
taking away my frustration.

There is a beautiful freedom in this poem. There is so much out there to lose ourselves in. The last stanza is quite stunning.

I love your traveler's soul, Mark, I always thought that is what makes us...connected, as it were. Travelers, writers, dreamers...that is the stock from which we were bred. Fantastic write, as per usual, my friend. Spoke to me beyond words...

Haha, sorry Mockingbirds review and your reply made me laugh xD

This is a great write, sometimes all we need is to clear our mind, be somewhere quiet and peaceful. Or as some people say, we need to find (think) of a place that makes us happy and try get all our good memories again.

sometimes just getting out of the house in the middle of the night and just driving can clear your mind and be refreshing, perhaps with someone you love, even.

Yes, but I live in a truck LOL Sometimes I get out of the truck and go walking.
"I want to be lost where

your smiles move and

chase laughter in the night

taking away my frustration."

What moving final sentiments, overall a wonderful piece.

Thank you so much ! :)
While the third stanza is so powerful - my mind lingered on the second. When I was younger I used to dream of just getting in the car and going away....I don't dream like that any more but this poem, well it caused me to remember.....
Well done.

I used to look at the freeway and wish I was on it. Now I live there. :)
The guided reference of timed telling in secrets moves me, well done.

Lost and this time its was my turn to lost and dissolved in your words of creativity Mark..
Loved it and must stay you gave it new life while explaining. Worth a share and really creative.

Lines I loved -
I want to be lost where
your smiles move and
chase laughter in the night
taking away my frustration.

Cheers!
