Meh

Meh

A Poem by Mark
"

Angst could be my middle name

"
That four square edge
blunted in 'meh'.

What care, when dared,
doesn't eventually disappear?

Mired in emotional mud
My tires of inspiration are sunk

Wet and muddied, bloodied and stuck
Planks of "I don't care" don't help.

With images from a pained scarred heart
This seeker winds down into the old.

Perhaps the next hill, when the sun rises again?
Someone to break the chains of my memories.

A glimpse of Sun watering the eyes
Show me my mirage; and leave me, again, alone.

I loved this write Mark - I think you've written it really well (as always) and it's something that people can relate to. On many levels.

SO RELATABLE!

An amazing piece.

What a great piece, I like your approach to releasing such hefty emotions, very well done!

These two passages floored me because I can relate:

Mired in emotional mud
My tires of inspiration are sunk

Wet and muddied, bloodied and stuck
Planks of "I don't care" don't help.

I have lived those lines. Awesome job! I loved the whole poem.

i agree with poetic beauty...and the image in the third stanza is fantastic.

scarred heart, chained to the images of memory...there is no breaking away...

they follow us into old age.

I love the use of nature in this poem to reflect emotions of the heart and soul. This poem could be felt deep within.
