Forgive & Forget

Forgive & Forget

A Poem by Chemical Kitten
"

Some things will never stop haunting you.

"

Just when I think I’ve

Forgiven you,

I realize that I haven’t.

Because I remember

What you did to me.

To her, to him, to us.

And I get so furious

I could scream until

My lungs give out.

But I can’t, so I fight

Oncoming tears instead

Until my throat burns.

I hate you,

And I love you,

And I’ll never forgive you.

You express the duality of love/hate very well. I normally would say, when the going gets stormy, it's time to migrate away from the negativity... But sometimes you can't, especially if it's felt towards a family member. Hope things are better now than when you wrote the poem. =)

sounds familiar lol. to be young is to suffer, but to suffer isn't restricted to being young.
