Inner Child

Inner Child

A Poem by Inyourshadow

You saw the child
inside me
crying...

crying out to be held

and you turned
and walked away...

only to return

with tea and tissues.

I would have never walked away... When someone needs to be held you don't go get yea and tissues, as always beautifully written. I know where have I been? Waiting to find something worth reading and reviewing.xo

At first, I thought abandonment; then, I thought true love.
Very simple. It conveys the deepest love through the simplest of actions. I believe that is the thing that warms the heart most.

I like this and agree with Todd... the inner child needs something entirely different to tea and tissues... maybe paints and wall? Lovely but sensing the longing...

Odd, I think Tea and Tissues would be alright for soothing an adult, but the inner child needs balloons and candy :)
