A Poem by Amy

Out of the blue raw material,

Not yet cut into a shirt,

Out of a black coat that hugs a figure

That I wish wasn't emphasized,
Out of a laugh, a glance, a stroll across the snow,

When individual talents are dormant,

Comes

Humanity?

On top of everything that happened before

On top of this feeling that may or may not

Be unique to me,

On top of the fact that the price of copper

Is skyrocketing,

I still don't even know what to hope for.

So now the red silk

Hints me in a safer direction

With bodies tangled up in it

In a blatant expression of sexuality.

The black coat gets tighter

And the blue cloth remains uncut

While I try to figure out

What kind of borrowing is stealing

Because copper is the rarest of them all.

I call heads and hope for tales

Because out of every image comes

A possibility?
