Seven Deadly Haikus

Seven Deadly Haikus

A Poem by Alm
"

Eh. Seven haikus on the seven deadly sins. Somewhat a loose interpretation of each, not exactly there.

"

.lust

A need for something;

but for want"skin against skin

and intertwined tongues.

.gluttony

Nothing satisfies,

not even the flesh and blood

of those who I eat.

.greed

Those intentions were

once what they aren’t. Evils

are necessary?

.sloth

Could have done something

instead of lying around.

No. I couldn’t have.

.wrath

An unstoppable

fury like a night monsoon

or someone who’d lost.

.envy

It could have been me.

Me who succeeded, and me,

who her eyes looked to.

.pride

This is who I am:

who I will always be. And

you will not change me.

Eh, still practicing new forms. It's not exactly there (I know) and I'm used to ideas in more than three lines, soooo yeah. Feel free to criticize, flame, eh, whatever.

You've done a fine job here, but I had some trouble comprehending the first stanza regarding lust. It took me a couple overviews until I understood what you were trying to do there. Well done on all seven of them, I particularly loved the last one regarding pride.
