almost feels like rockabilly set in the 90's.....
can imagine it to music...and i think it works well...
especially with some old time guitar like in the 50's----like the Rhythm Orchids played.

Thank you, Jacob. I'm not familiar with the Rhythm Orchids. My comparison would be to the Stray Cats, who were, of course, imitating the 50's and 60's sounds. And yes, there is oodles of guitar in it! :)

they were the group from which came Buddy Knox who did Party Doll and Jimmy Bowen who did I'm Stickin' with You during the late fifties.

but Stray Cats were quite good....saw them at a concert...

Yes, I have seen the Stray Cays too - walked into a bar quite by chance and there they wer, up on the stage, pounding out Stray Cat Blues. They were indeed good!

This is one time when I can really feel the musicality of posted lyrics (not always evident for me with some other lyrics writers). I like your message & your imagery & the snappy beat, but this feels like many verses & some lyrics restate a small handful of ideas in a slightly different way, so overall it's long & repetitive to me. But if there's good instrumentality going on, sometimes it's good for the verses to go on & on, even if mostly restating (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

well I like it... very good lyrics... great message! the melody has a Brian Setzer quality to it I kind of hear a rolling popping baseline in it. there is much more to this than when i first read it had to hear it first to get the point of the lyric

My songs all start from a bass riff - I'm a bass player, so no surprise there, eh? :) I am really pleased that you could hear the music - it means that it's working!
