Listen

Listen

A Poem by Island Hippy

i'm sipping on
a week of love
in a single smile.

my souls delight,
somewhere
in a foreign rain.

i left you there,
in the night
you slept, I wept.

there were lights
far away lights
around me.

i thought i heard
your voice
in the distance.

i close my eyes
and feel your lips
so close to mine.

you're always with me,
listen, can't you hear
the beat of my heart.

Much mahalo Roxane I appreciate that. Izzy
so romantic and peaceful to read ..how very strong the mind is to recall and we feel in the recollections .. really love this:
"somewhere
in a foreign rain."
and this:
" far away lights
around me. "
i feel warm in the love you portray in "Listen" and closing with the title gives that title as much importance as the poem ..well done..so enjoyed the experience hippy girl

You're welcome, Izzy. A pleasure always 😊
Soulfully poignant, as Jim Reeves would say,

' I hear the sound of distant drums
Far away, far away
And if they call for me to come
Then I must go, and you must stay'
