Always the Season for Starbucks

Always the Season for Starbucks

A Poem by J Todd Underhill

Ahhhh, that pumpkin spice has once again returned;
And the weather is no longer baking our souls.
A reward for our perseverance we have earned;
Surviving the summer always one of my goals.

Soon to give way to the Caramel Apple Cider,
Halloween to come with crackling leaves.
Bringing a chill to each ghoul, witch and spider,
As the wind rattles the houses eaves.

Then the Chestnut Latte as the Holidays begin,
For those that respect the thanksgiving bird.
To warm the happy heart and refresh the grin;
When sweaters and quilts are much preferred.

The Peppermint Mocha as the bells jingle
And Santa slaves away for girls and for boys.
Even enjoyed by Jolly old Kris Kringle,
As the elves pack up all of the Christmas toys.
