No New Messiah

No New Messiah

A Poem by J Todd Underhill

She thinks that she is the new messiah;

Walking in the world she created.

Speaking words to the sick and afflicted,

Spiritual teachings to be debated.

Political platforms a brand new stage,

A new pulpit from which her words to deceive.

Words contradictory to what is right,

Sent by Satan so do not believe.

Be wary of the shepherds that you follow;

Sheeple of the nation, I emphatically plead.

For lost shepherds are a grave threat.

For they know not where they lead.

When the wolf speaks to all the sheep,

Listen to all of the words that were said.

For the message may be what you fear,

And flatteringly lead us all to dread.

Yeah, she thinks she’s the new Messiah;

But listen with an ear tuned to hear.

For the truth cannot be glossed over,

And comes ringing through crystal clear.

What she teaches is really a millstone,

Around your neck to weigh you down.

She is really a glass of spiritual Kool Aid;

In this life that we call Jonestown.

There are all sorts of false prophets in the world. The only way to find the path is with the light. Thomas Paine once said, "The sun does not need a sign to distinguish him from the darkness." So when we seek the right path we only need to follow the light, beauty, love and peace. But those are words seldom heard in this world in the political or social arena. Hopefully, they will be heard more often in personal interactions.
