Leaves

Leaves

A Poem by J. Alicia

 Round yellow leaves

No

Not that yellow

The yellow of

Lemonsandsanguinelightandgreenedbannanasmockingthemonsterinthepitofmystomach

AH!

But that yellow of

Ripe corn

And

Tarnished gold

Oh

How round yellow leaves

Chased

           By

               The

                     Wind

Leer at me from their sliver ropes             Unreachable

In their ranks

And

I am still

Here,

On

The

GROUND.

I like this very soft and calming poem,
but the long line of description of adjective
interrupts the flow of the poem,
but simultaneously creates inventive illustration of words.

The style and format gives the poem an edge that is really a nice change -
Very well written
