INK ...It Fails Me

INK ...It Fails Me

A Poem by J. Hampton
"

To capture how I feel about him with mere ink and paper ...it's all about Jesus

"

My senses follow you

without choice

you lead me

gently...

as a butterfly

through random flight of days.

the breath…..

I cannot catch.

You are the green grass

that soothes my tired feet.

nuances of you……

lay tender season on my lips.

River to my soul

I am content…

to sit

and…pOeticize….

at the... very bank of you.

yet

”INK” ………

it fails me.

Morning rain

sings sleep songs…

that make my dreams slow-dance

calming me in ways…..

 wind

cannot whisper.

A word…

from you.

the essence  that calls me out

 of…

who  I once was.

A pOet  between split worlds.

You touch  me

with a thousand words

that fill my heart

and move….my humble pen.

yet….“Ink” ……..it fails me.

Such an ironic title since ink definitely did not fail you in the writing of this eloquent homage. All prayers should be this serene and melodic and lyrical. Even though your persistent use of capital O remains a mystery to me (which is fine, mystery adds spice to poetry as well as life), my favorite line remains: I am content To sit and pOeticize. At the... very bank of you.

Ink fails me every time, but surprisingly it doesn't fail me when I read poems like these. Unique, exceptional and has potential.

This is my favorite poem, I respect your religion. I voted for you. it is not easy to recognize and live it. Mostly people are believers but they don't experience. I think you do both. I like especially "River to my soul

I am content

to sit

andpOeticize.

at the... very bank of you.

yet

"INK"

it fails me." ----------for it was a total ping pong with words and they even had an amazing meaning. good luck.

It seems like the "Ink" has a hidden meaning. Your wording is very charming and clever. It feels like I am right on the verge of getting this. Some how what I sense to be it's true meaning is just beyond my grasp. I can see what is clearly written but there is more here.

when i mention authenticity, and i ask people to 'inspire me with integrity' - it is someone like YOU who i am honored to meet :)

This is deeply written from how I interpret this, I feel a certain passion in your words, God and all his beauty is your inspiration, you thank him for all that he has shown and given you and in this poem you describe this exqusitly.
Yet."Ink" ..it fails me.

I believe that what you are saying in this phrase, is a feeling of being not good enough, you wish to reach and inspire the masses with your words, to change the souls of the non believers or the hopeless, the weary, and you feel incomplete in that goal. it is just how I interpret this and I may be wrong.

Oh once again a great poem from the wonderful J. Hampton. If ink failed you your keyboard certainly came to the rescue. You have such great use of words and boundless concepts for your writing. I know when I read something from you It will dwell in my mind for sometime. I don't know how you come up with all these ideas but you certainly have a gift and if you don't recognize it the gift itself does and lets it show.

Well the INK didn't fail you here Jen and the prayer form of this is so incredibly humble "makes my dreams slow dance" really stood out for me because it brings forth such calmness. People can make choices about allowing God to lead them and obviously you have made that choice...he would be well pleased Jen...
Beautiful, just beautiful...
I'm truly touched by this...
