Describe orange without using the word orange

Its the color of the fruit I passed to her when she wouldn't eat. It turned into the color of her pencil, scribbling notes to me during class. It's the color of the flowers I sent to her on Valentines day, asking her to go on a date with me.

It's the color of the sky as we sat together and watched the sun sink beneath the horizon.

It's the color of the house we live in for 10 years going up in flame with myself, everything, and everyone I ever loved inside.
