Storm

Storm

A Poem by JDAwesomeness

The lightning shatters the darkness

The night turns to day

But only for a split second

Thunder growls like dogs in a fight

The ripping of fur

Mimics the storm in the night

The wind shrieks and howls

Like the wolves harmonizing

In the dead of night

The rain pelts the ground

With such a force

But the Earth still holds its ground

The storm is still not satisfied

When will it stop

Only time will tell

Thank you for entering your poem into my competition.

I liked the use of description, similes and the personification of the storm itself.

Good job :)

This poem is really cool! I loved you using similes to personify the storm. The twist in the first three lines. I started off thinking it was going to be about a beautiful sunrise, but it very quickly changed into a raging storm. Nicely done.
